Hailing from South Africa, Tony is an ISPA Offshore Yacht Master and has been an enthusiastic mariner since he was a young child. He built his first boat before his 12 th birthday! In addition to 40,000 NM as a Transport Canada Small-Vessel Commercial Skipper, he has logged an additional 25,000 NM offshore including skippering “Big Ben”, a Beneteau Oceanis 50, in the 2012 Vic-Maui International Yacht Race. A sailing novice, Karin was the enthusiastic fanner of the flames, propelling Tony to fulfill his lifelong dream – a South Pacific Ocean adventure. Against many odds, Karin and Tony recently completed their 12-month, 14,000 NM dream voyage on their Hans Christian 38, “Mayaluga”.
