Spinnaker furling - How it works and is it right for me?

Flying sail furlers – Code 0 and Asymmetric spinnaker furling, two very different things. Learn about the advantages of each furler and gear required to operate these two exciting additions to your sailing strategy. Your boats performance will improve dramatically and bring huge pleasure to the crew as the modern boat sails effectively in much less wind and confidently when the wind picks up when you have these furlers on board.


Stewart is a marine professional and founder of Pro-Tech Yacht Services Vancouver’s leading marine rigging and outfitting company located at Lynnwood Marina. Stewart entered the rigging business in the early seventies with further experience skippering and racing boats in Europe as well as racing and deliveries to Hawaii and along the west coast. Stewart has presented many talks on various topics to local clubs and associations over a 35 year period as well as volunteering at the Club level. As one of the original course instructors of BC Sailings ISAF Approved Offshore Personal Survival Course and a participant in the 1979 Fastnet Race Stewart has much knowledge of the safety culture that should be practised when heading out on the water and to share in this safety discussion.
