Ever wonder where gale force winds begin and when they get upgraded to storm force? Are hurricane force winds worse than storm force? Come listen to Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologists as they clarify the difference between various wind warnings and other marine weather hazards.

Bio

Ross Macdonald is an Operational Meteorologist and works at the Pacific Storm Prediction Centre in Vancouver where the marine forecasts for the British Columbia coast are produced. In his 12 years with Environment and Climate Change Canada Ross has gained extensive experience providing marine forecasts and briefings to the marine community. Ross is an enthusiastic speaker and has presented to community groups, university classes, and the local Rotary Club. In his spare time Ross enjoys exploring the great outdoors and is a passionate hiker and runner.
